In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the ISU Bengal Theater will feature "In the Heights." Based on the popular Broadway play, the movie takes place in the Washington Heights section of New York City, where a diverse population of Hispanic and other cultures blend as an assortment of characters seek to realize the American Dream during turbulent times and an uncertain future. With unflinching optimism, the movie personifies the working class spirit and the hopes and dreams of the community through song and dance. ABC News calls it, "a surefire Oscar contender that lights up the screen with the immigrant experience of the American Dream. The estupendo cast gives the summer's best party a heart that sings and a spirit that soars." Admission is $3 for the public, $2 for ISU staff and children under 12, and free for ISU students with Bengal ID.
